Holly was raised in Southern California where she spent her time in the ocean and riding horses in the Santa Monica Mountains. After receiving an English degree from Occidental College, she worked for the Department of Defense at the Rand Corporation for several years. However, after earning her Master's in Latin American Studies at UCLA, she pivoted to public education and taught for 7 years in East Los Angeles and then returned to her roots in Pacific Palisades and her alma mater, Pali High, where she taught English and Restorative Justice and provided mental health support for 27 years. Holly relocated to Grass Valley with her dogs, cats and horses, seeking a quieter lifestyle in this beautiful area. At SAEL, she will be teaching the 9th-grade Technology class and electives and going wherever she might be needed. Even after many years of teaching high school, Holly believes teenagers are the most interesting and engaging people she has the pleasure of meeting. She feels that SAEL is a wonderful place with exceptional and fascinating students and a dedicated and compassionate staff and she is thrilled to be a part of such a unique school culture!
