Phoebe joined the SAEL team as a Mathematics teacher and Crew Advisor (Clover Crew class of 2025) in the 2021-2022 school year and currently serves as the Skeleton Crew advisor who are proudly celebrating their 2026 Crew Olympics championship! Growing up in Auburn, CA, Phoebe is part of one of the few longtime local families still in the area. After working at Eisley Nursery for 10 years, she developed a love of nature and a strong green thumb.
Phoebe always knew she wanted to be a teacher. It was at Placer High School that she decided to pursue mathematics education, inspired by her wonderful role models. When she began her college career, she initially planned to double major in math and music because of her passion for both. Due to scheduling constraints, she ultimately chose mathematics. She completed her studies at California State University, Sacramento, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics along with a Minor in Teaching through the Mathematics Blended Program, designed specifically for math majors pursuing education. Phoebe is a strong believer in a growth mindset and believes that anyone can learn math at high levels.
In addition to teaching mathematics, Phoebe is passionate about personal finance education and is certified in 12 personal finance topics through NGPF. She is currently continuing her education at California State University, Sacramento, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies along with an administrative credential.
Outside of the classroom, Phoebe enjoys spending time with her family; Mike and her fur babies, Kairi, Kronk, and Luna. She can often be found playing outside (usually in the garden), reading, knitting, cooking, playing games (both video and tabletop), bowling, or visiting Disneyland. She also has a deep love for Disney and Studio Ghibli films.
