Shannon firmly believes in treating others the way she would like to be treated if she were in their shoes.
Shannon’s educational journey began in the very same building as SAEL, where she attended Nevada City Elementary. She has always been passionate about helping others and supporting wellness, which led her to begin studying Kinesiology during her high school years at Nevada Union. From there, she attended Santa Barbara City College and later Long Beach State, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. During her studies, she completed full-time internships with various sports teams, applying a wide range of sports medicine techniques. After college, Shannon worked as an Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapy Technician, and Injury Prevention Specialist. She then spent two years teaching Sports Medicine at Bear River High School while earning her CTE Teaching Credential. She is excited to bring her diverse skills and knowledge to her teaching career at SAEL.
In her free time, Shannon enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. She loves camping, hiking, visiting the lake or river, painting, and playing board and card games. She loves to smile, laugh, and uplift the people around her. She has wonderful parents and a gem of a little sister who have helped shape her into the person she is today.
